Six days, two venues, one movement. Hawai‘i Island hosts the first national Zero Waste youth convergence of its kind held in the Pacific — timed to Earth Week 2027.
In April 2027, Hawai‘i Island will host the National Zero Waste Youth Convergence, a gathering bringing together Zero Waste youth advocates, educators, community leaders, and changemakers from across the Hawaiian Islands and the nation. Hosted by Recycle Hawai‘i and the Hawai‘i Zero Waste Youth Alliance, and produced in conjunction with Zero Waste USA and Race to Zero Waste, this is the first national convergence of its kind to be held in the Pacific.
The Convergence unfolds across two iconic venues: the Grand Naniloa Hotel in Hilo (April 20–22) and the Marriott Waikoloa Beach Resort (April 23–25). Programming includes keynote speakers, youth-led workshops, cultural exchanges, site visits, and a closing celebration honoring the next generation of environmental leaders. Youth participants arrive as delegates, presenters, and leaders — not just attendees.
