About Us

Our Mission

Recycle Hawai’i collaborates with island communities on education and effective climate action that transforms a culture of waste into one supporting a vibrant planet.

Recycling since 1992

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization, helping our Hawaii Island communities REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE since 1992 and our grassroot efforts date back further, to 1987. Recycle Hawai’i pioneered Transfer Station Reuse Centers and continues to deliver and advocate innovative waste diversion opportunities for the residents of Hawai’i.

Our Work

We offer free recycling educational services for all Hawai`i Island communities. Check our guide for residents on where to take still good stuff  and where to recycle materials to keep them out of our landfills.

MAJOR Achievements
Our long-term vision is that Hawaii Island minimizes waste. In the future, everyone will understand and practice resource management instead of waste generation and disposal.
Recycle Hawaii works toward this vision through its programs and services. These are just some of our achievements.
